![]() ![]() Temperatures in the 240 range are not unheard of. Anything in the 200 230 degree Fahrenheit range for the 3.6L engine is probably nothing to worry about. Different driving and weather conditions can have an effect on the coolant temperature. I thought for weeks that mine ran too hot, but seems like more people are watching and facts are become clearer to me(all temps in F*):Ģ16-226 - High temperatures under normal conditions (fan on low to high)Ģ40 - Climbing or crawling High Temperature that can be seen without alarmĢ50 - Overheating will begin if action is not taken by the driver. I am not sure that there is an average coolant temperature. So a lot of folks say they are not that hot based on the temp gauge not moving. Either by de-fueing or going into limp mode etc.Īnd by most people's observations the temp needle will move to the right side of the center tick mark at 240. Seems to run warmer in slower moving traffic, not bumper to bumper. ![]() Ambient temp is 70 and occasionally I see temps in the 107C/224 F range and can honestly say I don’t ever recall hearing the engine fan running. At that temp you need to change what you are doing otherwise you will force the engine to defend itself. I noticed lately that my 2021 3.6 auto Rubicon on 35’s seems to run a bit warm. Then depending on what you do with your jeep it is "ok" to see temps up to 240. That is were the fan comes on low and to where to goes on high. But normal from what I am seeing from the now countless overheating/operating temp/vented hood/ how do you keep the engine cool threads lately is somewhere between 216-226. I now know that I need to run the AC a little to keep the temps under control. I used to not run the AC and I hit 226 every time I would take my jeep anywhere. Click to expand. The fan doesn't even turn on unless the AC is on or temp is 216. ![]()
